NUESTRA SALUD PEDIATRICS

Dr. Marissa Jimenez: PhD, FNP-C, RN holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (2020) and is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) to provide primary care diagnosis, and treat patients of all ages. She has over 25 years of professional experience in healthcare. In addition, she holds the following:


  • Master of Science in Nursing (2006) - Texas A&M International University
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2002) - Texas A&M International University
  • Associate in Applied Science (1999) - Laredo Community College


Currently, Dr. Jimenez is a Clinical Associate Professor and Family Nurse Practitioner Program Coordinator at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), where she teaches in the family nurse practitioner program. She also maintains

certifications as a family nurse practitioner (2006) and registered nurse (1999). She has also been a 1/3 owner of Nuestra Salud Health Clinic for the past 15 years, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to clinical practice and education.


Dr. Jose Luis Santos: DNP, FNP-BC, holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice and is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide primary care diagnosis and treat patients of all ages. In addition, he holds the following:


  • Master of Science in Nursing with a Nursing Education minor (2001) - Texas A&M Corpus Christi
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (1997) - Texas A&M International University
  • Associate in Applied Science (1995) - Laredo Community College


At present, he serves as an Adjunct Professor in TAMIU’s Family Nurse Practitioner Program, where he teaches students in the Family Practice Program. In addition, he is retiring from Laredo College after 25 years, during which he taught in the Associate Degree in Nursing Program and, more recently, the ADN-to-BSN bridge program. He has been part of the ownership team at Nuestra Salud Health Clinic for the last 15 years. He is also currently employed at the City of Laredo Health Department as a Nurse Practitioner in their adult health primary care program and the Tuberculosis program.


Roberto Moran: FNP-BC, MPH, MSN, SANE-P, JD is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (AP-RN) certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide primary care diagnosis, and treat patients of all ages. He has over 30 years of professional experience in health care. Currently, Mr. Moran also has certifications and advanced degrees in the following areas:


  • SANE-P (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner - Pediatric) 2024

Certified by the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) and TAMIU to provide specialized, trauma-

informed care and forensic evidence collection for pediatric and adolescent victims of sexual assault.

  • Master of Science in Nursing (2009) - Texas A&M International University
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (1998) - Texas A&M International University
  • Associate in Applied Science (1996) - Laredo Community College
  • MPH (Master of Public Health) 2005 - UT Health Science Center at Houston: A graduate-level degree focusing on Occupational, Environmental and Aerospace Medicine and Nursing.
  • JD (Juris Doctor), 2001 TSU Thurgood Marshall School of Law & Partner in Lopez Peterson PLLC, a local law firm. 


At the present time he holds a position as a Clinical Assistant Professor at TAMIU where he teaches students in the BSN, RN-BSN and Family practice program. In addition, has been a certified nurse practitioner since 2009 and owner of Nuestra Salud Health Clinic for the last 15 years.
